Sarah and Jerry have been married for three years. They wanted to experience some fun and excitement before they made up their minds to have a family and so they intentionally developed an extraordinarily vigorous social life.

The primary difficulty, it needs to be highlighted, is that almost everything they do with their family and friends has something to do with drinking. For example, all of the dinner engagements, happy hours, sporting events, family get-togethers, and parties with friends they spend time at somehow include drinking.

Sarah and Jerry Start to Take Note of Some Unmistakable Alcohol Related Issues That are Centered On Their Hazardous Drinking

If they were sporadic drinkers, this wouldn’t be a major issue. Due to the fact they drink quite irresponsibly, however, they are starting to become aware of some clearly identifiable alcohol-related difficulties in their lives.

For instance, just four days ago Jerry was arrested for a third DUI and has been calling off from work because of alcohol-related health issues. Moreover, Jerry’s last two or three performance assessments at the office have been less than adequate and he has begun to fail to recall what he does or says while he drinks. Lastly, Jerry has been having sleep-related problems and his family is starting to exhibit some disquiet about his drinking problems.

Not unlike Jerry’s situation, Sarah has been feeling disheartened with life and to cope with this, she has been drinking more intensely than any time in the past eleven months. Not only this, but Sarah has been experiencing a lot of throbbing migraine headaches and going through dreadful hangovers after drinking. As a final point, Sarah has been feeling much less active when she gets up in the morning, she has been getting to work late at least two days per week, and she has been getting some negative criticism from her friends, family members, relatives, and coworkers about her abusive drinking.

Watching the Television and Happening upon An Interesting Documentary About the Signs of Alcohol Addiction

One Tuesday evening while watching the television, Jerry and Sarah flipped through the channels and discovered a remarkable program about the signs of alcoholism.

This TV special was a real source of revelation to Sarah and Jerry because many of the alcoholism signs that were gone over looked like they were indisputably correlated with numerous alcohol-related drinking problems Jerry and Sarah had been going through.

Financial, Health, Relationship, Legal, and Employment Problems

After watching the TV documentary, Jerry and Sarah made up their minds to have a forthright chat about their drinking behavior. They both were in agreement that most, if not all, of their social functions somehow involved drinking, that they were drinking abusively, and that as a married couple, they were beginning to see alcohol related legal, health, financial, relationship, and employment problems for the first time in their lives.

With thoughts of the television program still etched in her mind, Sarah asked Jerry if some of the alcohol addiction signs they have been displaying could mean that they are alcohol dependent or possibly becoming alcoholic. Jerry didn’t know the answer to Sarah’s inquiry and so he suggested that they make an appointment with one of the doctors at the nearby alcohol treatment clinic to find out more about the gravity of their drinking circumstances.

Facing Your Drinking Issues Might Lower Your Fear and Give You A Degree of Peacefulness

Ironically, even though their drinking behavior hadn’t yet changed, it was obvious that Sarah and Jerry were at least addressing their drinking difficulties, they were willing to find out more about their drinking behavior, and they were interested in learning how they could appreciably cut back on or get rid of the drinking-related issues that had started to worsen.

When Jerry and Sarah went to bed that night, they arrived at a decision that the next day, Jerry would call and schedule an appointment for both of them at the substance abuse treatment center located downtown just outside of the business district. After they promised one another that they would do whatever it takes to prevail over the alcohol-related problems that had manifested themselves in their lives, they actually had the most energizing night’s sleep they could recall in the last eight months.

Just before she fell asleep, Sarah turned to Jerry and mentioned how effortless it is to reduce one’s sense of dread and truly experience some quietude by addressing one’s problems with conviction and making up one’s mind to do something positive about them.
